BODY OF WORK LANDS IN EUROPE!

Body of Work’s ambitious plan to internationally promote the finest Australian photographic art in print has commenced. The first shipments of the 2012 Collections and landmark Trilogy edition have arrived in Europe.

There are three issues in the 2012 Collection, each consisting of ninety-six pages of evocative photography created by Bob Armstrong, Peter Lik and Mike Armstrong.

These collections, featuring superb print reproduction and special effects, are being launched in premium retail outlets and exclusive fine art galleries. A selection of the images will be available in galleries as individual wall hangings, with the opportunity for collectors to select individual pieces for limited edition purchase or unique publication.

The Body of Work brand has been tested in prestigious print and photographic art awards events since 2007, receiving over 65 creative awards to date. The two most recent awards have further validated the international merit of Body of Work; in November 2011 at the New South Wales PICA annual ceremony Body of Work won Self Promotion and Innovative Business Practice awards.

In a recent interview, Bob Armstrong remarked: “I hope the success of Body of Work will encourage Australian designers, photographers and printers to pursue their focus on excellence in craft, and continue to raise the bar for photographic reproduction worldwide.”

Body of Work’s launch is being managed by Copernicus International. Consulting and Operations Director, Ian Sellman, commented, “The finished articles have exceeded our expectations in terms of quality and visual impact. They are truly a treasure. We are looking forward to meeting the challenge of the huge demand these issues are going to create on launch and enabling as many collectors as possible to admire them”.

In addition to winning the Gold Award in the 2008 Australian Print awards, previous issues have won coveted international Sappi awards. Along with these awards, the collection has also won an AGFA award for Innovative Use of Imagery.

The collection is a series of publications that have created a category of their own, with production standards never been seen in print before. Only the best craftsmen and materials are used in these publications.

Collectively, the publications are a celebration of photography, sport, film, dance, sculpture… the art of life and experience. The light captured through the lens, the passion inspired by a bouncing ball or the angles of a supple body. Sometimes, it will be the journey and others, it will be the finished product.

The collection will be launched on the world market late in 2011.
